In my role with Airtalent (previously Upstack), a New York-based software developer hiring startup, I worked in a team-based, agency setting and worked directly with their CEO, Yossi, on content strategy, industry research, LinkedIn ghostwriting articles, website copy, and branding development. I worked directly with the content development team as well to create a cohesive content strategy while maintaining my role as researcher and ghostwriter. I helped their team launch the rebrand of Upstack into Airtalent and assisted in creating content, voice, and tone frameworks for them to work off of.

responsibilities

I assisted Yossi in creating ghostwritten thought leadership articles on topics surrounding hiring, AI, software development, and related trends happening in the industry. This role required extensive research on the current state of the market as well as an understanding of very technical concepts in this sector. I performed research on thought leaders across various social media platforms, reviewed whitepapers, and read pieces from other thought leaders in the space while providing a unique spin on each topic based on Yossi and I’s brainstorming sessions.

In addition to ghostwriting articles for Yossi, I also assisted him and the content development team in improving their messaging in their website. I began with a copy audit of the current site, had discussions with Yossi and other members of the team, and conducted research on competitors and industry standards. After this initial process, I began drafting their initial landing page and accompanying sales pages. This required me to help them fill the gap they were aiming for in the market with a more personlaized and hands-on approach to hiring in this new age of AI.

In this role, I had weekly meetings with Yossi and the team, continually aiming to improve our processes and help contribute new content and strategy to the team. I took on the role of content writer and, being the “idea guy”, I helped generate creative new ways to present the company’s services and to continually improve upon our content while maintaining consistency and quality.
