In my role with BetterHelp, I worked in a team-based, agency setting and had the responsibility of crafting empathetic, compassionate, and on-brand content that spoke on a wide range of mental health topics. I worked on various initiatives aiming to help inspire individuals in need to seek help while highlighting the unique benefits of online therapy. I also helped to create content designed for therapists to help inspire adding online therapy into their workflows.

responsibilities

Throughout my time with BetterHelp, I was able to successfully channel their mission into empathetic yet informative content that distilled dense mental health topics into informative, interesting, and digestible content anyone can understand and enjoy.

I specifically aided in articles surrounding mindfulness, yoga, and the importance of a holistic approach to mental wellness. I also specialized in creating topics around more dense areas of mental health such as emerging modes of therapy and self-care techniques.

EMPATHETIC, COMPASSIONATE TONE

Research

Another key responsibility was highlighting recent research that reinforced the content I was creating. I was able to further hone my research and scrutiny skills that I developed throughout my time in college and ensured that included studies were both relevant and reliable. My process here involves reviewing methods and applying my research experience to understand if a study was properly conducted and if the results are reliable.

adaptability

A key aspect of this role was being able to be adaptable to the content creation team’s needs and any current initiatives that needed attention. I regularly shifted between creating content for the advice section, for BetterHelp’s sister sites, and for therapist-specific content that was deeper and required more research and a different approach to voice and tone. I also regularly helped to generate new topics for consideration and the natural inclusion of keywords throughout each piece based on SEO and performance data provided to me by fellow team members.
