In my time with CGIAR, I assisted their executive team with multiple time-sensitive projects including compiling press releases, preparing speech outlines/notes, and creating content that explains complex environmental and food security topics based on official white papers from the organization.
responsibilities
One of the initial tasks involved summarizing an event that CGIAR executives were participating in and ensuring that content accurately summarized key findings from their Global Food Security whitepaper while also maintaining the company’s pioneering, hopeful, and professional tone. This involved a combination of scientific research, drafting, and ghostwriting skills.
I also created summary articles and press releases of events that executives participated in. I was given transcripts of the event and was tasked with creating a highlight article of important points while weaving together a logical narrative of the steps for the industry moving forward.
Speech Writing
This project also involved creating an outline of talking points for the company’s CEO and her participation in the UK Global Food Security Summit. I was given a list of information that was to be included, various key resources such as whitepapers and studies to be referenced, as well as videos demonstrating the speaking style that their team was aiming for.
